Pinguicula are carnivorous plants which use their sticky glandular leaves to capture and digest prey. Also known as Butterworts, pinguicula have thick fleshy leaves and are know for the colorful annual flowers which tower well above them. We typically stock Mexican pinguicula's as they are easy to grow and quite attractive.

  • Pinguicula Primuliflora - An American Butterwort which is native to the swamps and bogs of North & South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Louisiana fast and are easy to take care of.  Flowers are large and are blue, purple and white. These mix in mini bogs really well bringing some bright colors into the mix.

  • Pinguicula 'Tina' x Emerginata - A very nice hybrid 'Tina' (P. agnata x P. zecheri) x P, emergninate.  These do not require direct sun, thrive in greenhouses or terrariums but will easily acclimate to a windowsill.  Typically grow to be 3.5"-4" and produce violet/purple flowers. Ships potted as shown or larger (2.5"-3")
